![]() google "ape and human evolution 2018 biology vs anthropocentrism": early-Pleistocene archaic Homo apparently spread intercontinentally, not running over open plains as traditionally assumed (but physiologically and otherwise unlikely), but followed the African and southern Eurasian coasts (where brain-specific foods were abundant), and later went also inland along the rivers (initially seasonally) or even colonized islands overseas, such as Flores or Mediterranean islands. ![]() ![]() Of course, our human ancestors sometimes interbreeded with other humans when and where possible, so it is to be expected that RAOWH (recent African origins with hybridisation) is more likely than simple RAO, but more interesting in my opinion is asking, not how or where and when, but why did we evolve a more globular braincase? why did we evolve less facial projection? a smaller dentition? a narrower pelvis?Ī biological approach of these morphological changes (rather than a fossil approach) suggests that some of the answers can be found in our ancestors' evolution from a more waterside to a less waterside lifestyle, e.g. ![]()
